Sergio Faluotico

Sergio Faluotico is originally from Uruguay where he won the 1990 Mapex international drum competition, taking him to Stanford to study percussion with Billy Cobham. In 1991 he won Pearl Drums international competition. He has toured Argentina with The Supremes and The Platters, and recorded with jazz pianist Fernando Michelin and saxophonist Jerry Bergonzy. He founded Canada’s first candombe/rock group, Bando Sur, and has also performed with blues great Chris McHardy, Jazz rock guitarist Beledo, flamenco guitarist Peter Mathers, the Royal Conservatory’s Jazz Big Band and Paul Houle’s percussion ensemble in Toronto. He recently recorded two albums with the award winning Son Roberts plus presentations with Rumanian keyboard wizard Gia Ionescu, singer Mario Munoz and producer/songwriter Chris Birkett.
